We are companions on a journey!
Saint Philomena School provides a Catholic education for all students to encounter God's love and to grow in faith. Animated by the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus, our program seeks to cultivate Catholic values and inspire lives of service for others. Our school liturgies and traditions are formative and joyful experiences that foster a culture of companionship with God and celebrate our values of excellence, hope, dignity, justice, companionship, and gentleness.
We seek to help every child recognize the unique gifts and talents that God has given to help make the world a loving and more compassionate place. Children at Saint Philomena School are encouraged to look to those in need and develop a heart for sacrifice and service. Each year our school family participates in countless projects and collections to support causes that better our community. We are united with the international Society of Faithful Companions of Jesus to support missions around the world that protect refugees, promote public health, and assist those who struggle on the margins of society.
Our students, faculty and families participate in service projects and experiences through partnerships with My Brother's Keeper, The Martin Luther King Jr. Center, The Center for Nonviolence, and nursing and assisted-living facilities around Aquidneck Island.
We gather throughout the school year to celebrate Mass as a prayerful and joyous school community. Special traditions like our Bible Ceremony, class Masses, The 8th grade Farewell Mass, and Family Masses help to anchor our faith in God and share our gratitude for all of God's blessings. Our students lead our prayer and worship to develop courage and confidence as ministers of song, readers, prayer leaders, and role models. Through our students especially, God is made visible and vibrantly alive on campus at Saint Philomena School.
