Drawing from 22 cities and towns, many of our younger students play competitively in local town and recreational leagues. However, SPS values the opportunities that come from our youngest student athletes developing skills and abilities on campus through non-competitive and intramural after-school activities.

Starting in middle school, our sixth through eighth graders have the opportunity to compete in three seasons of athletic offerings. The school participates in the Catholic Athletic League and competitive leagues with other private and local middle schools in the states of Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

  • Fall sports include co-ed soccer and boys and girls cross country.
  • During the winter, we have a 7th and 8th grade boys and girls basketball program.
  • Spring sports include boys and girls lacrosse and intramural, co-ed volleyball.
  • Starting in the Winter of 2024, SPS is excited to announce the addition of a School Squash League in partnership with the Newport County YMCA.
